Search Assistant is an easy to use program for creating Advanced Query Syntax (AQS) searches for Windows Desktop Search. It allows you to create complex where clauses based on a file's properties as well as searching for text. The results of your searches can be displayed in the Search Assistant's own results window or your search can be passed directly to Windows Explorer Features : Windows Property System Aware - Search Assistant uses the Windows Property System to display properties to you. If you select a date property it will prompt for a date, select a folder property and your prompt will have a button for a folder selection window, a yes or no property and your prompt will change to a radio button and select a property with a fixed set a values and you will see a combo box with the valid values to choose from. Smart Property Selection - Using Smart property selection Search Assistant can show you just the properties you need to see. Tell Search Assistant what kind of file you are looking for and it will show you only properties relevant to those files. Easy to use interface - Search Assistant's easy to use interface makes creating searches a snap. Rows are added as needed and can be easily deleted and inserted. Easy to read button menu shows all your options. Results Window with Auto Preview - View your results and preview your files in Search Assistants own window that uses the same smart preview mechanism used by Windows Explorer and Outlook. Works with Windows Explorer - Any search you create with the Search Assistant program can be sent directly to windows explorer Customizable - Search Assistant's interface is highly customizable. You can change colors and control many of the programs prompts. Save Searches in Multiple Formats - You can save your searches in three formats Advanced Query Syntax, MS Search Protocol and SQL.
