Santa backup is a simple solution for data backup and recovery for Android.
With Santa Backup you can keep or export the following data to external devices:

2. SMS

8. Applications (+ data and application settings with root-access)
Data will always be up-to-date because of easy backup schedule mechanism. Only changed information will be saved.
All data can be saved on SD-card, telephone memory or Dropbox storage. You may save information in different places to provide more protection.
