RPCS3 is a free and open-source video game console emulator for PlayStation 3 that runs on Windows and Linux. It is programmed in C++ language and includes Vulkan and OpenGL as back-end functionals. The RPCS3 package is developed and published on the open-source GitHub web site. RPCS3 comes with all the features you'd expect from an emulator. Unfortunately, there is no cross-platform support for macOS but it can run on Windows, FreeBSD, and Linux operating systems. RPCS3 software was developed by DH and Hykem on May 23, 2011. The project was first hosted to Google Code and eventually accelerated it to GitHub in the latter stages of development. This emulator was recognized as the first one to boot successfully and operate simple Homebrew undertakings or projects. Over the years, the RPCS3 emulator has added more developers as Hykem left from the project. At present, this emulator can play more than fifty percent of PS3 archives from beginning to end. It can now play more than 1000 games without major glitches. There are a lot of reasons why this software has taken everyone's fancy. First, it has an archive, and new gamers can now play and appreciate older games. A treat indeed for those who want to experience playing older video games. This emulator can be perceived as still a work in progress. Despite the recent release of the latest version, developers of RPCS3 are still finding ways to improve its efficiency and functionality.
